Apache Trout

Where to find them:

After nearly being wiped out by hybridization with stocked rainbows, livestock grazing, logging, you name it, Apache Trout have made a comeback in Arizona's White Mountains. The Arizona Game and Fish Department has restored several watersheds and routinely stocks them with these fish.

Anglers can try to catch them on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation and places like the East Fork of the Black River, the lower West Fork of the Black River, the Little Colorado River in Greer, the West Fork of the Little Colorado River at Sheep Crossing, upper Silver Creek, and Lee Valley Lake.

For more information, see this page from the Arizona Game and Fish Department.
