What are you planning for next year???
So this is the first time that I really don't know what my native trout goals for the next season are going to be. I know that the Eagle Lake rainbow is going to be on the books, but I have no idea what else. Char in the Arctic, Mexican Rainbows, Atlantic salmon, brookies and Blueback trout in Maine??? Your guess is as good as mine.
So what are your guy's plans??

Not sure yet
After driving 4500 miles the last trip I think next year will be a little closer to home. A California/New Mexico trip is in the works for 2011. Next year we are leaning towards Queen Charolotte Island in September for fall Coho and Searun Coastal Cutthroats. No new species but lots of fun.
Big Bulls
My only semi-solid plan is to head to Idaho with a backpack and go catch some obig bull trout. Anyone up for it?
I may be interested in that!!
I may be interested in that!! You have to let me know about what time of the year you are heading there so I can see what I can do.
What time of year do think would be best?
Was thinking somewhere in the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness.
Here in Washington the one
Here in Washington the one stream that I have found with large bulls seems to fish well between early June and August. One of my friends taped a bull trout that he caught at 32" out of this stream... As Idaho goes I am not too sure about timing though...
Chum Salmon in CA this
Chum Salmon in CA this November. Humboldt or Greenback Cutthroat next year. The newly discovered Greenback population in Utah is really interesting or possibly Westslope Cutthroat of John Day Drainage in Oregon.
Chum in CA, that should be
Chum in CA, that should be fun. Those fish are powerful, 8wt is a minimum and chartreuse and purple have always seemed to be the best colors.
Thanks
I have a better shot at winning the CA Lottery but there is a tiny population there and in the Smith River Drainage as well. Wish me luck next month.
Missed Oportunities
Since I missed out on gilas & apaches this year with you, next year I'll have to make up for it.
I had planned on the southwest slam in 2009 and the CHT Challenge in 2010, so I guess I'll try to combine the two next year. I wonder if there is anybody on here that can help me out with the California Challenge? ; )
I've found a Maine connection on my home site, he can hook me up with big brookies and salmon. I have another resource for the bluebacks and I've also found a lodge in Canada that has access to the aurora trout, but not until August of 2011.

Excuse my spelling
sometimes I forget to use spell check.
Chris
I'd be glad to help with your CHTC
I hold certificates #5 & #57 (all 12 Native Trout) found in CA. Paiute is now totally off limits - but there are some cool combinations you can come up with. Can provide all info you'd like on any species.
Ned
CHT Challenge
I can help you out if you have questions about fishing golden trout wilderness, which has 3 heritage trout in it.
Edward - Did you have any
Edward - Did you have any luck for those chum? It was a piss poor year for them up here...
Didn't even try
Salmon on the Trinity River this year was not that good so did not even bother. Hope to get one in CA before I die! Maybe on my 81st birthday like Robert H. Smith catching the Sunapee Trout in Idaho.
