Messages and Notifications

I just want to make sure everyone understands the new 'My Messages' section on the home page as I think it can be very handy.

Here is what I wrote in the help document: [The section] contains a personalized list of comments and posts on the site that are of interest to you. By default you will automatically be notified if someone posts a comment on one of your posts. You can also subscribe to other content. At the bottom of every forum page and trip report, you will have the option to subscribe to that post, to all posts of that type, or all posts by that author. These subscriptions can also be managed on the My Account page under the Notifications tab.

There is one important caveat, though: I just made the 'auto subscribe' on for all users by default today. This means you should be automatically subscribed to all comments on any future posts that you write. But you are not automatically subscribed to posts you have written in the past. If you want to do that, go to the Notifications tab in your account and subscribe to all posts by yourself.
