I made contact with an outfitter that has an opening in 2011 !! I'm not sure if that is when his first available opening is or the water he has "rights" to opens.
From what research I have done, there are some wierd regulations in place for the Aurora trout. Due to the fact that most are caught in very deep water you are required to keep any caught and only allowed to catch a single Aurora trout in a day. It seems to me that this regulation is there just to accomidate deep water gear fishing tactics with the reduced mortality with flies and ability to use different tactics it really makes no sense.
This link here gives a good explanation for their catch and release stratagy, it makes sense when you see the reasoning behind it. It also shows which lakes are open each year. 9 lakes in total, only 3 lakes open to fishing each year! The 3 orginal lakes the fish are native to are closed to fishing all year round I believe.
I see that they have revised the description since I last visited the site. A month ago it stated that catch and release was not allow what so ever. I have no issue with the only catch on fish per day part of things. It was the mandatory catch and kill, that didn't make any sense.
