Mississippi River Bassin

Had an opportunity this past weekend to grow my life list by taking a trip up to MS to fish for some Alabama bass. We camped and fished near Columbus, MS on the Luxapalila and the Buttahatchee, tributaries to the Tombigbee River, which eventually empties into Mobile Bay. It was a fantastic weekend with some folks from the RiverBassin forum. We ate very well and got to paddle some excellent water. The fishing was a bit slow at first but picked up towards the end of Saturday with some nice fish being caught. I boated one 2-13 alabama bass on conventional tackle and several under a pound on the fly rod. When the topwater bite was on there were some vicious strikes on the crease fly. It was a blast!
