Greenback Trout in Rocky Mountain National Park

Notes:

I had to attend a seminar for work in Denver.  I took an extra day and drove up to fish the Roaring River in Rocky Mountain National Park with a guide.

As it turns out, you really don't need a guide to fish this river.  There is a well-used trail running along the river.  You hike up the trail to the first river crossing and then head upstream.  The river is narrow but appears to have abundent food for trout.  The trout I caught were all healthy and fat.

This is a great stream to fish if you want to catch a Greenback and don't have enough time to hike into the backcountry.
